Obesity and Joint Loading:
Whenever you go to a Doctor saying that you have Arthritis they would say you need to lose weight because you are over weight. Answer is Yes.. Over weight has an impact on the weight bearing joints. To explain it in a simpler the Center Of Gravity will shift based on your weight. Thus the alignment of your joint will be disturbed. In turn your muscles will start compensating which makes them weaker and stiffer. So imagine you are activities like walking and running with this. It would actually increase the imbalance. So am not saying you should not do walking and running but you need to work on the Strength of the muscles to correct the Alignment. If you keep doing Strengthening and Physical Activities it will make you lose weight and help in reducing the Joint Load as well.
